Xtremesoft Releases AppMetrics^® Version 4.0.3

Improves Performance and Reliablity of Data Collection

Supports Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008

Woburn, Massachusetts: June 15, 2009 - Xtremesoft announced today that it has rolled out Version 4.0.3 of AppMetrics for Transactions.

This release features improved performance in terms of data collection overall, where previously under heavy loads, some data may have been lost due to system resource limits and communications bottlenecks. Communications bottlenecks have been eliminated and performance tuned to provide efficient and reliable data handling under heavy application loads. AppMetrics 4.0.3 has been tuned and tested to operate correctly under Windows Server 2008 (32 bit and 64 bit), and SQL Server 2008 (32 bit and 64 bit).

There are also several bug fixes incorporated in this release which correct the following issues:

• Events delivered to AppMetrics for applications which had already shutdown were lost
• Manager would run out of memory under heavy load
• Console would hang if a remote monitor was hung
• Manager monitor would not handle event processing errors correctly in certain situations

New features and enhanced functionality for this release include:

• Improved communications handling between manager and agent
• Improved event processing logic in manager
• Improved error handling during install, where configuration problems are easily located and identified
• AppMetrics reports have been modified to make use of the extended capabilities of Excel 2007 by utilizing up to 1 million rows of data.
• Support for Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 added

AppMetrics 4.0.3 is available immediately.
